Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Every once in a while, a street fight clip is so absurd that it deserves additional attention. The often viral video has surpassed the basic inclusion in the “slips and rips” section and deserves full headline status. In some way, it is extraordinary or ridiculous.

Dear readers, I believe this is one of those occasions.

Inject yourself into the situation: you are sitting at home, relaxed and at peace. Perhaps you’ve just finished off a quick breakfast, binge watched a couple episodes of your favorite tv show, or maybe even did some yard work. Whatever the case, your domestic zen is disrupted by a call to defend your loved one’s honor at their place of work.

Congratulations to the peaceful readers who would just silence their cell phone and return to their day — you successfully avoided an ass-kicking. The more confrontational among us likely would have met a similar fate to our poor protagonist in the featured video: punches in bunches and a pair of Rory MacDonald vs. Nate Diaz-style suplexes straight into the hot asphalt. After getting tossed around so badly that Kurt Angle trended on Twitter, slinking back to the car to disappear back to the couch (if not the local MED7) was certainly the wisest move.

Is there a lesson to be learned here? First and foremost: don’t fight dudes in black Air Force 1’s. Secondly, maybe try not to volunteer your significant other for a beatdown at the work place.

Insomnia

Petr Yan’s trash talk is much funnier than it has any right to be.

Shocking fact of the day: Ed Herman is on a three-fight win streak.

Michael Chandler really comes up with some of the least fun workouts imaginable.

Can Dan Ige pull off another quick finish tomorrow night?

A bold strategy:

Chris Weidman has started a new podcast, and Anderson Silva was the first guest!

An already great clip showing the value of self-belief then much improved by Belal Muhammad:

There’s a rumor going around about the “real reason” for Paulo Costa’s withdrawal from his bout with Jared Cannonier. It’s certainly false, but …

Slips, rips, and KO clips

Win by the big exchange of left hooks, die by the big exchange of left hooks.

A real clean set of transitions to the back and calf slice!

Chopped down like a tree:
