Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight
Welcome, Midnight Maniacs!
Tenshin Nasukawa said after his fight this weekend that he has no plans to partake in an ‘exhibition’ and intends to knock Floyd Mayweather out. The two are back on for a New Years Eve bout in Japan that, per Floyd, will be a boxing-only three-round exhibition, meaning it will not go on his official 50-0 professional record, one way or the other.
In a backstage interview he further elaborated that he plans on going into this as the Japanese representative since it’s an honor that no other Japanese fighter has ever fought him. He reiterated that he has no intentions of partaking in an ‘exhibition’ and will KO Mayweather

The RIZIN CEO insisted this would be possible under the ruleset Mayweather has agreed to.
Claims Mayweather suggested cancelling the bout because its billing as a ‘special standing bout’ was taken as being an official fight by overseas media and there were misunderstandings around details of streaming situationhttps://t.co/6lhCdOLQUh

Sakakibara is being at his slipperiness at this latest presser. He is now claiming that there is a language issue and ‘exhibition’ doesn’t mean it’s ‘not a real fight’ in English, only that it’s not an ‘official’ bout. And that a ‘real fight’ exhibition is possible
