Earlier today, WOWT reported that an Iowa man later identified as UFC veteran Timothy Gorman was arrested on Sunday night. Officers pulled over a vehicle driving on the shoulder and called a K-9 unit for “detected clandestine activity.” As a result of the eventual vehicle search, officers “uncovered 121 pounds of marijuana, six pounds of THC concentrate, two vials of steroids, a small amount of cocaine and $14,000 in cash.”
Gorman has been charged with “two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana — more than one pound, possession with intent to deliver and possession of money during a drug violation” and is currently held in the Buffalo County Jail.
Gorman’s stretch in UFC did not last long, though some of that was due to bad luck. An injury forced him off The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), but he was nevertheless brought back twice to compete in the Octagon. He suffered decision losses to a pair of tough customers in Mitch Gagnon and Thomas Almeida, earning a “Fight of the Night” bonus in the latter.
He won one more fight on the regional scene afterward but hasn’t fought since 2015.
