Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight
Welcome to Midnight Mania!
The week that was crazier than fiction keeps dropping gems, like the fact that McGregor has parted ways with his normal attorney and hired one named Bruce Mafeo. That’s right, Bruce Mafeo is a real name of a real lawyer in New York City.

This can’t be real. “Cozen” means to trick or deceive, so McGregor is literally hiring someone whose firm is named “the trick of Conor.”
To follow-up on the McGregor lawyer story, this just in from McGregor’s team:
“Conor has retained Bruce Maffeo of the law firm Cozen O’Conor, a long-time criminal defense attorney from Brooklyn. Conor thanks Jim for his great work on such short notice.”

Bruce Mafeo is, fortunately, accustomed to dealing with cases that aren’t normal.
Not even kidding — Conor McGregor’s new attorney Bruce Maffeo (as reported by @arielhelwani ) famously represented a rap mogul back in 2014 accused of hiring a hitman to take out somebody from 50 Cent’s crew.

I’m wishing all the best for Bruce Mafeo of Cozen O’Conor.

Holly Holm vs. Invicta FC featherweight champion Megan Anderson is a great matchup, but a dangerous one for Megan, who is pretty much the only up-and-coming featherweight to challenge Cris Cyborg’s dominance over the division.

The Zuckerberg testimony was comedic on many levels, but also Facebook is potentially destroying our democracy, so anyway here’s a jiu-jitsu meme about it.
Congrats Jesse. You made it into the memes.
Today on Twitter a rumor got started about the new broadcast deal the UFC is supposedly striking. Only… it came from an anonymous person, mmalogic, on an MMA message board. If it turns out to be true, that would be the most MMA-typical event since last week when UFC 223 went off the rails.
I knew that “PPVs reduced to 6 per year” bit sounded familiar. pic.twitter.com/Tj6W6ZoIIc

McGregor making a cameo in Cat Zingano’s walkout was one of the first moments where I began to realize he was everywhere.
I’m kinda looking forward to this

This is the Muay Thai shark-tank clinch work that makes champions.
Zabit Magomedosharipov is more or less a modern Russian ninja, who actually studied kung fu and went to a real-life full time martial arts academy as a child.
I really want to see the Yair Rodriguez fight
According to Magomedsharipov’s team, he heard Rodriguez was in Vegas today and waited for him for two extra hours at the UFC Performance Institute to discuss a potential fight. Alas, they never ran into Rodriguez.
