The second women’s UFC fight has finally been booked, and it will take place on April 13 at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale, when former Strikeforce bantamweight champion Miesha Tate faces Cat Zingano.
The booking was confirmed by the UFC on Monday afternoon.
For the 26-year-old Tate, it will mark her first time back in the cage since defeating Julie Kedzie last August. That was her comeback fight after losing the belt to Ronda Rousey.
In a fight with likely title implications, Tate (13-3) should be the favorite in the bout over Zingano, an undefeated 30-year-old who will be making her first start under the Zuffa banner.
Zingano is 7-0 and in her most recent fight, defeated Raquel Pennington in an Invicta show. To date, she’s shown a balanced game, with three knockouts, three submissions and one decision.
This fight is the first women’s UFC bout scheduled since the Rousey vs. Liz Carmouche match was set last December.
It is the second overall match announced for the TUF 17 finale, following a heavyweight bout pitting Gabriel Gonzaga against Travis Browne.
