The heavyweight boxing legend gives Ronda Rousey some words of advice after her devastating loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193.

It’s been a rough Christmas and New Year for former women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. The Olympic bronze medalist has kept a low profile since losing the title to Holly Holm at UFC 193. Holm, 34, knocked out “Rowdy” with a perfectly timed head kick in the 2nd round to claim the 135 lbs. championship.

Rousey, who has embraced the spotlight and media attention since her UFC debut in 2013, has shied away from the press since the loss but Mike Tyson thinks the 28-year-old should “come out of the house” to boost her confidence.

The boxing heavyweight legend offered some words of advice to Rousey on Conan.

“She has to understand, we’re in the hurt business,” Tyson said (transcription via Andrew Roberts of Uproxx). “I don’t care if you’re the king of the hurt business, we’re in the business where we get hurt. And um, she’s just gotta be seen, come out of the house. I see she’s been around, show your face. You’re human. She’s just unfortunate that she’s a goliath. David is a great king, he’s done great things…He built the civilisation! But he’s more famous for beating goliath.”

Tyson, who’s an avid fan of the Rousey, is familiar with the emotional highs and lows of combat sports. The 49-year-old — like Ronda Rousey — was seen as invincible during the peak of his career but was humbled by Buster Douglas in 1990. Douglas entered the ring as a massive underdog but knocked out “Iron Mike” in the 10th round.

And, it looks as if Rousey will be taking Tyson’s advice – the former champ will be hosting NBC’s sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live at 11:35 PM ET/PT on Jan. 23.
