Two OGs of the lightweight division are expected to fight each other in two months.
Jim Miller and Clay Guida are two of the most tenured UFC fighters in promotion history, and now they will square off against each other.
A lightweight bout between Miller and Guida is nearly finalized for UFC Newark on Aug. 3 in Newark, New Jersey, ESPN reported Saturday night.
Miller, who has a record 32 fights in the UFC, is coming off a first-round submission of Jason Gonzalez at UFC Fort Lauderadale in April. He is 2-1 in his last two. His last four fights have all ended inside the distance.
Guida was last seen in a unanimous decision win over former UFC two-division champion B.J. Penn last month. In that bout, “The Carpenter” bounced back from a submission loss to Charles Oliveira just over a year ago. Guida, who has 27 UFC fights himself, is 3-1 in his last four dating back to early 2017.
No other fights have been announced for UFC Newark, which is scheduled to take place at Prudential Center and air on ESPN.
