“I am a way better fighter than he is. I know it and everyone else knows it.”

Despite being knocked out by Daniel Cormier in the first round of their heavyweight championship clash at UFC 226, Stipe Miocic is confident he outclasses ‘DC’ in the inevitable rematch.

Shortly after it was announced that Cormier would go on to defend his newly-acquired heavyweight title against Derrick Lewis at UFC 230, Miocic called out the two-division champion on social media.

Miocic believes he’s the vastly superior fighter and implied that Cormier’s KO win at UFC 226 was a fluke, claiming that he beats the light heavyweight and heavyweight kingpin ‘9 times out of 10.’

“I’m a way better fighter than he was,” Miocic said in a recent interview. “9 out of 10 times I win that fight. That was one time. It kills me to say it because I’m a way better fighter than he is. I know it and everyone else knows it. I think he knows it, too.”

During his reign as king, Miocic defended the heavyweight title a record-breaking three times and is considered the best heavyweight champ in UFC history. The 36-year-old will likely sit out and wait to fight the winner of Cormier vs. Lewis.

UFC 230, which features Cormier vs. Lewis in the main event, takes place next month, Nov. 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
