Stipe Miocic can’t help but wonder if Daniel Cormier is a cage fighter or a psychiatrist.
Stipe Miocic cannot figure out why Daniel Cormier keeps talking about feelings.
The former UFC heavyweight champion discussed the build-up with MMAmania.com and other reporters at the UFC 241 open workouts. “I have no feelings towards him,” Miocic assured. “I don’t know what his deal is about my feelings. I still want a rematch. The dude literally cried on national TV.”
Miocic chose to sit out and wait for a rematch against Cormier. 13 months later he has a chance to rectify that loss. “If it didn’t happen, it didn’t happen. I don’t know what feelings I had about it. Listen, I’m a grown-ass man. I was trying to get [the rematch]. He’d be doing the same damn thing. So I don’t know what the hell he’s talking about, ‘feelings.’”
Outside of the Octagon, Miocic is making the most out of life. He spent the year raising his baby daughter, continued to work with his local firefighters and has stepped up his Call of Duty game: “I’m getting better. I’m getting a lot better actually.”
Unfortunately, he can’t say the same about UFC light heavyweight Gian Villante. “He’s terrible. I actually haven’t played with him in a while,” Miocic said. “But Villante is terrible.”
That’s not all. On a recent episode of UFC Embedded, Miocic and his wife went to a local flea market (video). There Miocic snagged a treasured item. “I got that Charlie Sheen Wild Thing signature. That blew my mind. I was so pumped,” he said with a smile. “I got it for 45 bucks. Whaaaatttttt.”
UFC 241 takes place in Anaheim, Calif., on Sat., Aug. 17. The event boasts a highly-anticipated co-main event clash between Anthony Pettis and Nate Diaz.
