A pro MMA fighter is suing a supplement company for cancelling their deal due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Pro MMA fighter and YouTube star Josh Brueckner (4-2 MMA, 1-0 pro boxing) is suing supplement company You Can Beam for cancelling a promotional deal due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The New York Post reports that Brueckner, 25, signed a six-month deal with You Can Beam but that the contract was terminated after just one month. Brueckner, who has over 2 million YouTube subscribers and 550,000-plus Instagram followers, was to receive $15,000 a month for promoting Beam’s whey protein and collagen powder supplements on social media. ‘G.I Josh’ received one $15,000 payment in March before the supplement company cancelled the deal.
According to Beam CEO Russell Saks, “the agreement was being terminated because the company was in severe financial distress because of the coronavirus emergency, and the company was just trying to ‘keep the lights on.’”
Beam is alleged to have posted photos of Brueckner on their website after they had terminated the contract, per New York attorney Jason Solotaroff.
Brueckner is suing the company for $90,000 for breach of contract and civil rights violations.
