Hey all. I’m mixing my religious metaphors, but this rivalry is rich with allegorical parallels. Leon Edwards is in the midst of a stellar eight fight win streak, but most have been mid-card names and yeoman performances, resulting in mostly decision wins. Like Cain, his offerings are likely to be rejected by the MMA Gods.

Jorge Masvidal by comparison is on a humble two-fight win streak, but in reality has set the sport on fire with his in-cage performances, post-fight interviews, and by throwing hands backstage with Edwards himself. His veteran status along with his straight talking, no nonsense approach to the game has allowed him to pass Final Judgement of those who are keeping it real, and those who most certainly are not.

Gamebred insists that the belt is his next destination and the UFC would be wise to capitalize on his momentum, but the Leon Edwards feud should not die. Hype aside, it’s a great matchup that Edwards has earned.

Take care of yourself and I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
