A day after Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) left Roxanne Modafferi without an opponent after the promotion yanked Liz Carmouche from the fight face Valentina Shevchenko for the women’s Flyweight title, “The Happy Warrior” has a new dance partner.
ESPN is reporting that Roxanne will face Jennifer Maia at the upcoming UFC on ESPN 4 event on July 20, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas.
Roxanne Modafferi has a new opponent for the July 20 card in San Antonio, sources say. She’ll meet Jennifer Maia in a rematch of a fight won by Maia via split decision in 2018.

Jennifer already has a win over Modafferi, defeating her back in 2016 via split decision to hold on to the Inivcta FC Flyweight title. Interestingly enough, Maia’s only loss since then came against the aforementioned Carmouche in what was her UFC debut back in 2018.
Maia is 7-1 over her last eight bouts, while Roxanne has gone 4-2 since losing to the Brazilian bomber and was most recently seen handing Antonina Shevchenko the first loss of her mixed martial arts (MMA) career at UFC Fight Night 149 last April.
UFC on ESPN 4 will be headlined by a Welterweight fight that will see Rafael dos Anjos take on Leon Edwards, while Greg Hardy makes his return to face Juan Adams in Heavyweight action. Plus, Andrei Arlovski and Ben Rothwell will tango for a second time, while Aleksei Oleinik faces Walt Harris.
