“The Punisher” needs a new opponent.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Flyweight contender Muhammad Mokaev was scheduled to face Luthando Biko at Brave CF 91 this weekend (Fri., Dec. 13, 2024), which is going down inside Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain; however, that is in jeopardy because his opponent has pulled out of the fight.
According to a press release that Brace FC sent out, Biko was forced off Friday’s card due to health issues. As of this writing, no opponent has been found.
Mokaev, 24, was not re-signed after his unanimous decision win over Manel Kape at UFC 304 earlier this year because of “behind-the-scenes issues.” He then signed with Brave FC, a promotion for which he competed five times.
The young Flyweight hopes to get a phone call from UFC CEO Dana White and Co. with a win in Brave FC, especially after UFC Flyweight Alexandre Pantoja’s big win at UFC 310 last weekend, as there is no clear next opponent for the Brazilian.
Unfortunately for Mokaev, finding an opponent on three days’ notice might be a little tough, mainly because of his pristine 12-0 record and his former UFC fighter status. The one positive is that there are several high-level Flyweights on the regional scene for him to fight.
