Marlon Moraes isn’t happy with Jose Also after the former champ changed his tone on their fight at UFC 245.
Although it seemed all was fine after their fight at UFC 245, Marlon Moraes is now unhappy with Jose Aldo due to his call-out of Henry Cejudo.
Aldo made his highly talked about drop down to bantamweight at UFC 245 to take on Moraes. After a back-and-forth three rounds, Moraes edged out a split decision win over the former featherweight king. With both men showing a lot of gratitude to each other after the fight, Moraes told MMA Fighting why he has lost all respect for Aldo.
“Right now, I have no respect for this guy,” Moraes said. “Zero respect, not for him, not for his team, for how they are acting. At the fight, Aldo took the microphone, he says I want to congratulate you, no big drama. But he goes home and he sees what Henry (Cejudo) says and he changes literally from 0 to 100. From blue to red. Like ‘I won the fight, Marlon was scared, I see his face.’”
Cejudo (cringefully) lobbied for a fight with Aldo following his loss to Moraes. “Magic’ took exception to the situation as he thinks they are several fighters such as Petr Yan and Cory Sandhagen that deserve a shot at Cejudo’s bantamweight title much more than Aldo does.
“Petr Yan, (Cory) Sandhagen, (Aljamain) Sterling, they are on a good streak now,” Moraes said. “They’ve got victories. They do deserve. Aldo does not deserve [a title shot]. That’s a pussy move what he’s doing. ‘Oh I want to fight you, I want to beat you’ — you just lost. How can you call the shots? You did not beat nobody. You just lost two fights in a row.”
Moraes is expected to return to the cage in the summer.
