Morning Report: Joe Rogan has ‘no problem’ with Ronda Rousey fighting Bryan Caraway

Ronda Rousey’s pool of contenders may have just gotten quite a bit bigger.

The UFC women’s bantamweight champion is booked to face No. 1 contender Cat Zingano Jan. 3 at UFC 182 in Las Vegas, but commentator Joe Rogan has some interesting ideas about future challenges.

During his ‘Fight Companion’ podcast coinciding with UFC 179, Rogan explained why he would be in favor of seeing Rousey fight Bryan Caraway, a UFC bantamweight and significant other of her chief rival, Miesha Tate.

“If you know that a chick used to be a dude, but is now a chick and you fight her, I’m on board,” said Rogan. “I think it should be legal to ride bulls, I think it should be legal to jump BMX, you should be able to do whatever the f**k you wanna do. I think a 135 pound chick should be able to fight a 135 pound dude.

“I think if Ronda Rousey and Bryan Caraway talked enough s**t and they decided to go at it, I don’t have any problem with that if they both agree to it.”

Things have been tense between Rousey and Caraway dating back to 2012.

The night before Rousey would steal away the women’s strikeforce title from Tate, Caraway infamously Tweeted, ‘if [Rousey] wants to challenge a man I’ll knock her teeth dwn (sic) her throat the (sic) break her arm!’

Rousey largely laughed off the threats, but has maintained that she would be game for the matchup ever since.

Unfortunately for Rousey, pitting Caraway against a close friend and training partner might be the best she can hope for.

Making a successful bantamweight debut in a come-from-behind submission win over Cody Gibson at UFC 178, long-time Rousey stablemate Manny Gamburyan made it clear he wanted a piece of Caraway.

“I told Joe Silva win or lose, I want Caraway next,” Gamburyan said in the Octagon. “Bryan Caraway, where you at? Don’t be scared, homie.”

FANPOST OF THE DAY

Today’s Fanpost of the Day comes via JuniorTresSantos.

Does anyone else think that Chad Mendes is the last person Conor Mcgregor wants to fight?

Personally, I think Chad would be a nightmare for Conor and i’m just getting the feeling that he really wanted Aldo to win because of that.

If he ever moves up to lightweight, there is NO WAY IN HELL that he’s getting past Khabib for that same exact reason.

Plus, i’m still not on the Conor McGregor hype train. Don’t get me wrong, predicting that he’d stop Dustin in the first round and actually doing it was pretty impressive, but Dustin was never top 5 in my featherweight rankings based on his accomplishments.
