The saga between UFC president Dana White and former light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson rages on.
Now spanning years, the war of words took another turn this weekend as ‘Rampage’ insisted he wasn’t paid nearly as well as White would have you believe.
In the lead up to UFC on FOX 10 in January 2013, White told Ariel Helwani that Jackson earned $15.2 million from 2007 to 2012.
“The UFC put a big number out there, that I made so much money over the years,” Jackson told Fight Hub. “Honestly, I don’t believe that it’s true. They lie about a lot of stuff.”
Jackson, who hasn’t been shy about his taste for high-end toys, says he didn’t earn enough fighting in the UFC to be able to retire comfortably. Jackson signed a promotional contract with Viacom and Bellator following his unanimous decision loss Glover Teixeira at UFC on FOX 10.
“If I just quit fighting for the UFC and retired, no, I wouldn’t be able to retire for the rest of my life,” said Jackson. “I don’t think I would have, just because of how many kids I’ve got and stuff I plan on doing. I would have kept doing movies and stuff, but that’s beside the point.
“Off my ‘MMA money’ that I made strictly from MMA? No, I don’t think I would have been able to retire for the rest of my life. After taxes and all that stuff that factors in.”
Jackson has also been critical of the UFC’s Pay-Per-View business, alleging that the promotion lies about its pay-per-view buyrates, either to the press, or to fighters as a means to withhold earnings.
“After taxes and after you pay your team, your coaches and your manager their percentage you don’t walk away with the number like they say that they pay you,” said Jackson. “It’s just propaganda.”

UFC 179: Glover Teixeira vs Phil Davis Fight Analysis/Prediction
With both fighters coming off of one-sided decision losses, both fighters seek to bounce back and regain momentum as contenders in the light heavyweight division. Lets breakdown these two fighter based on how they looked in their past 5 fights.
Phil Davis 12-2-0, 2 KO/TKO, 4 Sub, 6 Decision
Strengths
From 2012 to now we have seen Phil Davis striking game improve as he has shown really good kicks and jabs straight down the middle. He does a good job at using the most of his reach advantage and keeps himself at a safe distance while close enough to attack. When he takes his opponents to the ground he has shown in multiple fights one of his favorite go to submissions. As his opponent tries to stand, he will have full control of the opponents head and looks to sink in an anaconda choke every time. He has done this against Alexander Gustafsson and to Wagner Prado. He is a high level collegiate wrestler that really has set up his striking more so he can change levels and go for the takedown. He has a good chin and keeps himself at distance which allows him to absorb less punishment and he knows how to use his striking and wrestling to score points.
