It sounds like Brendan Schaub could be in for a long night against Travis Browne at UFC 181.
Despite owning 12 first-round stoppages dating back to his professional debut in 2009, Browne plans to take his time against Schaub.
“Honestly, I don’t want to knock him out,” Browne told fans during a Q&A session last week in Halifax, Nova Scotia. “I want him to feel what it feels like to go three rounds with me. I’ll tell you right now. This guy, a lot of people don’t rub me the wrong way, but opinions are like a**holes and you need to keep them to yourself. That’s exactly what he needs to do.”
Browne is assumably referring to comments recently made by Schaub regarding the Hawaiian’s recent switch of camp. In September, Schaub told UFC commentator Joe Rogan that he believes Browne made a mistake by leaving famed trainer Greg Jackson in New Mexico in favor of Edmond Tarverdyan, Ronda Rousey’s head coach.
“Obviously, I know Ronda very well and I know that camp pretty well. I’m not going to go into detail but I think it’s a great thing for me that he’s training there,” Schaub said. “I’ll put it like that. I think it’s a good thing for me.”
Admitting he had become depressed following his loss to Fabricio Werdum at UFC on FOX 11 in April, Browne revealed he hadn’t even watched tape of the five-round main event until he sat down with Tarverdyan three months later.
“I’m not looking past Brendan Schaub at all,” said Browne. “Everything goes my way, I get past this guy, I want to fight for the title. I’ve never asked for anything from the UFC. I’ve never asked for a certain fight. For me, I can’t wait to fight for that title and losing to Werdum has made it that much more of a priority on my list. Moving forward and making the changes that I needed to make to fight for the title.”
UFC 181: Hendricks vs. Lawler II goes down Dec. 6, from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
5 MUST-READ STORIES
Apathetic. Rory MacDonald has no preference on whether he fights Johny Hendricks or Robbie Lawler for the UFC welterweight title.
Whoops. After Tweeting that he lost his WSOF title to ‘get out of his contract,’ Josh Burkman says it was a joke in an attempt to zing Ben Askren. ‘If you know my personality, it’s very sarcastic. I don’t take many things really too serious.’
More traps than ever. Chuck Mindenhall explains how Cung Le serves as another reminder that it’s nearly impossible to exit the sport gracefully. ‘Drug tests, it turns out, are cold and arbitrary towards the game’s greatest icons.’
Needs more ‘Murica. Chris Weidman is puzzled as to why American fans don’t root for American fighters.
‘My issue is psychological.’ Paulo Filho opens up on the issues that have derailed his promising MMA career. ‘People watched me fight like crap and had no idea what had happened. So I decided to respect myself this time.’

FWIW.
@ufc is WRONG 2 suspend @cungle185. The post fight hGH result was scientifically NORMAL & exactly what experts expect. NOT a valid positive
— Victor Conte (@VictorConte) October 5, 2014
WADA does NOT consider @cungle185 test a positive because NO isoforms or IGF-1 tests done & exercise elevates hGH well known. @ufc MISTAKE!
— Victor Conte (@VictorConte) October 5, 2014
@ufc didn’t do the 3 WADA tests needed 4 positive. They compared @cungle185 to rested hGH normal. Not 2 post exercise normal. Cung = NORMAL

Halloween FanPost: Top 10 Most Horrifying Situations in MMA
The month of Halloween is here – let’s celebrate by examining the the scariest places to be in Mixed Martial Arts. What are the absolute worst situations to find yourself in?
There are certain situations in our beloved sport that have become known as unfavorable, to say the least. So while this list may not include a one night stay in Joe Son’s prison cell, or employment as Mayhem Miller’s public relations manager, the following scenarios are filed under ‘TO BE AVOIDED’ by most professional fighters. Let’s get to it:
10. The Waiting – Going to a Decision against Benson Henderson
Ben Henderson does not lose controversial decisions. As Frankie Edgar, Gilbert Melendez, and Josh Thomson have all found out recently, if you have a close fight with Benson, you are going home a loser. The judges are firmly in the corner of the ‘Smooth’ one, so his opponents now must be wary of odds if they see the final bell. To avoid career and purse damaging losses, avoid going to the D with this man.
