When it comes to breaking down Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight champion Henry Cejudo, who recently captured gold at 135 pounds, there is perhaps no one better qualified than longtime rival Demetrious Johnson.

And “Mighty Mouse” was thoroughly impressed with “The Messenger’s” win over Marlon Moraes in the UFC 238 pay-per-view (PPV) main event last weekend in Chicago (highlights), while also scratching his head over the gaseous defense of Cejudo’s “Magic” opponent.

“I thought Henry Cejudo did an amazing job,” Johnson said during a live Twitch stream (via South China Morning Post). “I hope they start paying that man. I look forward to seeing what he does next in his career. The thing I was most surprised about was Marlon Moraes gassing. I was shocked that he gassed. And Henry Cejudo took advantage and made it a dogfight. He came out the champion. Henry Cejudo, he’s ‘Triple C’, he’s the ‘champ champ champ’.”

Johnson went to war with Cejudo in two separate title fights. After winning via first-round technical knockout at UFC 197 back in early 2016, Johnson fell by way of unanimous decision in the UFC 227 headliner roughly two years later.

Now that “The Messenger” has titles in two different weight classes, it will be up to UFC to decide when and where the champ-champ-champ makes his next title defense. As for Johnson, he’s got his own work to do as part of the ONE Championship grand prix.
