After seeing his pivotal featherweight clash with former bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling fall to the wayside ahead of UFC 307, Movsar Evloev has withdrawn himself from the event entirely — with reports claiming a viable opponent for the surging Russian could not be found.

Evloev, who currently holds the number number six ranked featherweight contender, was slated to make his return to action next weekend at UFC 307 in Salt Lake City, taking on former undisputed titleholder, Sterling in a high-stakes pairing at the Delta Center.

However, with Uniondale wrestling talent, Sterling confirming his withdrawal from the pairing amid an elbow injury suffered during sparring ahead of his return, Movsar Evloev was the subject of multiple offers to continue on the card, namely by recent Noche UFC winner, Diego Lopes in a short-notice rematch.

And going back-and-forth with the Brazilian star on social media this week, Evloev has now reportedly returned to his native Russia, and will no longer fight on the UFC 307 flagship card next month, withdrawing from the event entirely, according to a report from MMA Mania.

In the midst of an impressive 18-fight unbeaten spree during his mixed martial arts career, former M-1 Global bantamweight gold holder, Movsar Evloev’s most recent outing came at the beginning of the year against British favorite, Arnold Allen, turning in a close unanimous decision win.
