Things suddenly got more personal between Ian Machado Garry and Michael “Venom” Page ahead of their Welterweight contender clash at UFC 303 this weekend (Sat., June 29, 2024).
The pair of flashy strikers have thrown mild verbal jabs at each other throughout the build to their fight, mostly targeting their levels as fighters. However, Garry has now made a bold accusation about Page’s coach and aid for assistance in the match up.
“Did you offer my team thousands of dollars to get information in Chute Boxe from my boys?” Garry asked at the UFC 303 pre-fight press conference. “Did you send someone a message and offer thousands for information, and yet couldn’t infiltrate the camp. You couldn’t get into it. My Chute Boxe family’s too tight. Your little f*cking rat jiu-jitsu coach offered money to one of my Brazilian friends and you got nothing. Saturday night, you’re f*cked.
“You’re never fighting again after this fight,” he concluded. “Your jiu-jitsu coach is gonna get suspended for life.”
In retort to Garry’s claims, Page blurted a “shut the f*ck up” back at the Irishman. A win for either in Las Vegas will get them one step closer to a title shot against the winner of the championship rematch between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad at UFC 304 next month (Sat., July 27, 2024).
