Jon Jones will return to action on February 8 to face Dominick Reyes in the main event of UFC 247 inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. It will be Jon’s fourth title fight in the span of 14 months, as he vowed to be more active after winning the vacant Light Heavyweight title at UFC 232 in late 2018.
Reyes, meanwhile, will look to shock the world by handing “Bones” his first true loss in mixed martial arts (MMA). Undefeated at 12-0, 6-0 UFC, “The Dominator” was last seen knocking out former UFC Middleweight champion, Chris Weidman, at UFC on ESPN 6 last October (highlights).
Jones and Reyes got a little chippy during their first official staredown, so you can expect things to get a bit more heated in the leadup to the 205-pound title fight. For Jones, a win would give him his eleventh title defense at 205 pounds and perhaps inch him closer to a move up to Heavyweight.
In the co-main event, women’s Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko will defend her title against Katlyn Chookagian, who has won five or her last six inside the Octagon. Also on the card, Ilir Latifi will move up to the 265-pound division to face Derrick Lewis.
