“Sweet Dreams” has opened up about his recent loss.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill suffered a significant loss at UFC 311 this past weekend (Sat., Jan. 18, 2025) when he was stopped by fellow former 205 lb kingpin Jiri Prochazka in the third round via technical knockout (TKO) inside the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California (watch highlights).
The loss at UFC 311 hit “Sweet Dreams” hard, and he was very emotional as he walked to the backstage area.

Now that the dust settled and the former champion had some time to collect his thoughts, he released a statement on social media about his loss.
“First off, congratulations to @jirkaprochazka you made great adjustments and gave me a hell of a fight!!!” Hill wrote on Instagram. “I want to thank everybody that reached out with love and support. I truly appreciate you all!!! My fire has never burned hotter or brighter for my future and growth!!
“Fighting against the elite of the elite is an honor and blessing that I don’t take for granted, and yes, it comes with some hard lessons, but this is my journey, and I’m going to set the course back right!!! Negative and hate are from those that know where they stand beneath you and want to bring you down to their level!! My head is high, my heart is full, and I can’t wait for my time to shine again. Sweet Dreams Nation, we move forward and onward!!!”
Hill (12-3) has now suffered back-to-back losses for the first time in his career after riding a four-fight win streak that led to him claiming UFC gold.
