Jamahal Hill can’t stop talking about Alex Pereira.

Unfortunately for “Sweet Dreams,” who was stopped by “Poatan” when they went to war in the UFC 300 pay-per-view (PPV) main event last April in Las Vegas, the chances of scoring a championship rematch are currently idling on the corner of Slim & None.

That’s because Pereira is focused on defending his 205-pound strap against former division titleholder Jiri Prochazka atop the UFC 303 fight card this weekend in “Sin City.” In addition, Hill (12-2, 1 NC) is currently sidelined with a pair of meniscus tears in his knee.

When “Sweet Dreams” recovers, No. 9-ranked Volkan Oezdemir (20-7) will be waiting.

A showdown more than two years in the making.

Oezdemir, 34, once challenged Daniel Cormier for the light heavyweight strap, but lost to “DC’ by way of technical knockout and struggled to stay consistent over the next several years. That said, “No Time” is coming off back-to-back wins for the first time since 2019.

The No. 3-ranked Hill, 33, has yet to respond to Oezdemir’s challenge.
