Nate Diaz is a ready to fight.
Diaz contacted MMAFighting.com Friday night to say that he would like to fight the streaking Matt Brown next at 170 pounds.
“I want the Matt Brown fight,” Diaz said. “That’s what I’m looking for. I’m trying to fight the baddest motherf**kers out there. I’m not trying to fight some lame ass fighter that they’re trying to build off of me.
“My brother is retired. So if this guy wants to fight a Diaz, he’s got to fight me.”
Following Brown’s win over Erick Silva last weekend, his seventh in a row, some began to clamor for him to fight Nick Diaz next, however, Diaz appears, at least for now, to be content in retirement.
Nate Diaz, though, last fought in November when he defeated Gray Maynard via first-round TKO. He recently told MMAFighting.com that he was unhappy with his current UFC contract, and since then the UFC has removed him from their official rankings.
Update: When asked for a comment regarding Diaz’s request, Brown said, “I respect what he said about wanting to fight the baddest motherf*ckers, but I have to talk to my manager.”
