Welterweight Neil Magny will remain on the UFC Liverpool card, as he’s set to take on Cage Warriors fighter Craig White.

The UFC’s debut show in Liverpool has a new co-main event.

Following an injury to popular welterweight contender Gunnar Nelson, Neil Magny’s status on the card was in jeopardy. Fortunately for him, he does have a new opponent in the form of Cage Warriors veteran Craig White. UFC officials announced the matchup on Tuesday, with the event less than two weeks away.

White (14-7) is on a four-fight winning streak, all under the Cage Warriors banner. “The Thundercat” most recently submitted Alex Motagnani by guillotine choke back in March. All 14 of White’s career wins have come by knockout or submission, although 6 of his 7 losses have also been by stoppage. White returned to welterweight after losing to Mike Shipman at middleweight, so the weight class change has paid off for him thus far, and he’ll make his UFC debut against a ranked opponent.

Magny (20-6) will look to make it two wins in a row after defeating Carlos Condit by unanimous decision at UFC 219. He has alternated wins and losses over his last four, losing by stoppage to both Rafael dos Anjos and Lorenz Larkin, while earning a decision over Johny Hendricks in addition to the Condit victory.

UFC Fight Night: Liverpool is headlined by a welterweight bout between Liverpool’s own Darren Till and two-time title challenger Stephen Thompson. The main card airs live on Fox Sports 1 on Sunday, May 27th with a special early start time of 1 PM ET/10 AM PT.
