Professional Fighters League (PFL) recently announced the launch of its “Road to Dubai” Champions Series, which is set to kick off inside Coca-Cola Arena on Jan. 25, 2025 in Dubai, which is set to be headlined by a Lightweight title fight as division king, Usman Nurmagomedov, will defend against rising sensation, Paul Hughes.
Now, the co-main event has been announced as former Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight champion, Vadim Nemkov, will face off against PFL’s Ante Delija in a Heavyweight bout. Nemkov made his successful return to the 265-pound division in his PFL debut be defeating Bruno Cappelozza to win the “PFL vs. Bellator Champion of Champions” Super Belt earlier this year, improving his unbeaten win streak to thirteen straight.
As for Delija, he saw his five-fight win streak go up in smoke in his most recent outing courtesy of former Bellator MMA Heavyweight champion, Valentin Moldavsky, who knocked out “Walking Trouble” in the very first round at PFL 1 earlier this year. Now, the 2022 Heavyweight tournament winner will attempt to get back in the win column with a staple win over Moldavsky’s training partner.
The “Road to Dubai” Champions Series is the first event after PFL signed a historic multi-year partnership between the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and the Dubai Sports Council (DSC) to stage mixed martial arts (MMA) event in the city of Dubai.
