Nick Diaz looks to be in fighting shape.
The year 2021 could be a year of returns as far as two of the 209’s finest are concerned. In recent weeks rumblings have been heard regarding both Nick and Nate Diaz’s fitness and willingness to compete inside the cage.
Some of the loudest rumblings came in the wake of news that the elder Diaz brother had completed a trial 14-week training camp and weight cut. Fans, media and fighters alike shared their excitement at the prospect of seeing Nick Diaz compete for the first time since battling to a no contest with Anderson Silva at UFC 183 in 2015.
Despite that excitement UFC President Dana White said he had no expectations of seeing Nick Diaz in an Octagon anytime soon.
You can expect more excitement from people not named Dana White now that ESPN MMA have released shots (taken by Scott Hirano) showing a lean and toned Nick training with alongside his brother Nate. Those images were captioned with the teaser, ‘Comeback Season 209’.

The last we saw either Diaz Brother compete was at UFC 244 last November. That’s when Nate took on Jorge Masvidal in the main event for the novelty BMF belt. Nate lost that bout thanks to a brutal cut that forced a doctor’s stoppage.
