Miocic beat Ngannou via dominant unanimous decision back in 2018 but ‘The Predator’ has been on a tear since then, notching four straight knockout victories over Curtis Blaydes, Cain Velasquez, Junior dos Santos, and Jairzinho Rozenstruik. The Cameroonian knockout artist is widely considered the most dangerous fighter in the world.
Miocic, on the other hand, holds two title wins over Cormier as well as stoppage victories over Werdum, Overeem, and dos Santos. The 37-year-old firefighter is one of the most well-rounded and seasoned fighters in the sport.
White didn’t announce a date for the matchup but the UFC president said Ngannou is ‘definetely next’.
“Francis (Ngannou) is definitely next. You can’t jump over Francis. Francis has been out there destroying everybody. If you look at how long ago it was that he got that title shot — he’s worked his way back. It belongs to Francis Ngannou.
