MMA star Nick Diaz is finally free of the suspension he received following his UFC 183 loss to Anderson Silva in January 2015.

A report surfaced from MMA Fighting revealing that sources have confirmed Diaz has reached an agreement with the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) and can now fully resume all fight-related activities in the state. Diaz was infamously suspended for a laughable five years after failing a post-fight drug test for marijuana metabolites when he controversially plead the Fifth Amendment to now-former commissioner Pat Lundvall.

The suspension was reduced to 18 months and a $100,000 fine, with the suspension ending last August. However, Diaz had yet to pay $75,000 of the fine by August 20’s UFC 202, where he was banned from cornering his brother Nate in his record-setting rematch with now-lightweight champion Conor McGregor.

The settlement stated Diaz had until December 1, 2016 to pay the remainder of the fine, but he has reportedly reached an agreement for which the terms of were not made public.

Diaz can obviously resume competing in addition to cornering his teammates. A popular and polarizing bad boy, Diaz believes his knowledge would have allowed Nate to defeat McGregor were he in the corner in their rematch as they originally planned.

Many longtime UFC fans have been awaiting his return to the Octagon, and this essentially opens the door for the anti-hero to make his way back. Who do you want to see him fight next?
