UFC strawweight Nina Ansaroff and her fiancé two-divsion champ Amanda Nunes are hoping to have their first child.

Top UFC women’s strawweight contender Nina Ansaroff is set to take a year off as she prepares to have her first child with fiancé Amanda Nunes.

Ansaroff (10-6) was on a four-fight winning streak at 115-pounds before her most recent loss to Tatiana Suarez. The 33-year-old picked up decision wins against the likes of Claudia Gadelha and Randa Markos before losing to Suarez earlier this year.

“I’m not pregnant yet, but we are looking into the process,” Ansaroff recently told ESPN.

Nunes, who holds both the UFC women’s bantamweight and featherweight titles, is currently on a nine-fight winning streak, picking up notables win against the likes of Holly Holm, Cris Cyborg and Ronda Rousey. She said it is her fiancé’s dream to become a mother before winning a UFC title.

”I am looking forward to it,” Nunes said. “That’s another wonderful time in my life. I’ll enjoy it.

“Nina’s dream is to be a mother before being a UFC champion,” Nunes said. “Having a child is Nina’s biggest dream and I’m happy to share it with her.

Nunes said that both she and Ansaroff should know whether they are expecting a child before Nunes is scheduled to defend her bantamweight title against Germaine De Randamie at UFC 245 on December 14th.
