Rising sensation Sage Northcutt ended his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) career after a brief run after he opted to sign a contract with ONE Championship and its ever-growing roster (despite what others may lead you to believe).

For “Super,” signing the with Singapore-based fight promotion not only allows him to get more buck for his bang, but he will get the opportunity to fight in not just mixed martial arts (MMA), but also in Muay Thai and kickboxing. And if he has his way, he will become champion in all three sports.

“What I think is cool is, they have, not only do they have MMA, but they also have Muay Thai and they have kickboxing,” Northcutt said on “The MMA Hour“ (via MMA Fighting). “So, I want to be the champion in MMA, I want to be the champion in Muay Thai and kickboxing. I want to do it all.”

In doing so, the karate expert can show off not just his evolving MMA arsenal, but focus on his stand up skills, too.

“And I think that ONE Championship is going to be really cool because I believe that I’m going to display my different skills in each of those and I believe be the champ in each of those. I think it’s the perfect league,” he concluded.

Should Sage accomplish that feat, his star will only shiner bigger and brighter.

Northcutt was last seen competing this past July, defeating Zak Ottow via second round knockout (see it again here). He previously revealed UFC had offered him big fights if he re-signed against the likes of Demian Maia and Santiago Ponzinibbio. But, it seems Sage will be fighting overseas for the foreseeable future, but you can also expect him to take part in stateside events once ONE starts staging fights. And that could be happening sooner rather than later.
