“The Dominator” cannot catch a break.
Former two-time Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight roost-ruler, Dominick Cruz, has suffered an injury in training and is out of his scheduled fight with No. 9-ranked Rob Font, which was supposed to go down at UFC Seattle on Sat., Feb. 22, 2025.
Cageside Press was the first to report the news earlier this afternoon. Sources have since informed MMAMania.com that Font will remain on the ESPN+-streamed card.

Cruz, 39, was set to retire at UFC Seattle after a legendary career that saw him capture (and defend) UFC’s Bantamweight belt twice after vacating his title because of a torn groin. Unfortunately for “The Dominator,” injuries have plagued his illustrious career — he has had to endure two separate multi-year layoffs.
It is currently unknown if Cruz will try to schedule a final fight for later or if he will stop actively competing in mixed martial arts (MMA) and continue to be a way better UFC broadcaster than Daniel Cormier.
Here is UFC Seattle’s latest fight card (with Cruz removed):
Henry Cejudo vs. Song Yadong
Rob Font vs. TBD
Brendan Allen vs. Anthony Hernandez
Curtis Blaydes vs. Rizvan Kuniev
Edson Barboza vs. Steve Garcia
Macy Chiasson vs. Ketlen Vieira
Ibo Aslan vs. Ion Cutelaba
Adam Fugitt vs. Billy Goff
Andre Fili vs. Melquizael Cost
Melsik Baghdasaryan vs. Jean Silva
Modestas Bukauskas vs. Raffael Cerqueira
Mansur Abdul-Malik vs. Nick Klein
Ricky Simon vs. Javid Basharat
