medicalsuspensions8dOn Monday, the Ohio Athletic Commission released the list of suspensions for last Saturdays, March 5, Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson event in Columbus.

A total of eight fighters received lengthy medical suspensions with four receiving indefinite sentences barring medical release by a physician.

The event took place at the Nationwide Arena and saw two titles on the line. Former PRIDE champion Dan Henderson won the Strikeforce light heavyweight title after defeating former champ Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante by third round knockout, and Women’s welterweight champ Marloes Coenen defended her title by submitting Liz Carmouche in the fourth round of their bout.

The full list of medical suspensions are as follows:

  • Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante: 60-day suspension for precautionary reasons
  • Jorge Masvidal: Indefinite suspension barring medical clearance for hand
  • Billy Evangelista: Indefinite suspension barring opthalmological clearance
  • Jason Riley: Indefinite suspension barring opthalmological clearance
  • Ian Rammel: Indefinite suspension barring medical clearance with a minimum 30 day suspension
  • JP Felty: 60 day suspension for precautionary reasons
  • Billy Vaughn: 30 day suspension for precautionary reasons
  • Mitch Whitesel: 90 day suspension for mandatory rest due to accumulative bouts
