Check out the betting odds for a potential boxing bout between Floyd Mayweather and ‘BMF’ champ Jorge Masvidal.
Since Floyd Mayweather announced that he is departing from the retired life, there’s been tons of speculation as to just who his next opponent might be. Lines for Georges St. Pierre, Khabib Nurmagomed, even Dana White are all on offer. And now there’s a betting line for a potential boxing bout between Floyd and ‘BMF’ title winner, Jorge Masvidal.
Mayweather is used to being tagged as the betting favorite, and this line is no exception. Online gambling site SportsBetting.ag has the undefeated great opening up with a sizable moneyline of -1000. As for Masvidal, the resurrected MMA star has been pegged with an underdog value of +600. This bout must take place before December 31, 2020 for action. Prop bets do not exist for this fight.
Since first retiring from boxing in 2015 with a win over Andre Berto, Mayweather has returned to combat sports for quick – and seemingly easy – paydays. He stopped Conor McGregor inside the distance in 2017, and then hit Japan on NYE 2018 to dust kickboxing standout Tenshin Nasukawa—before getting back to the retired life.
As for Masvidal, after more than a year on the sidelines away from the sport of MMA, he returned in 2019 to claim the scalps of Darren Till, Ben Askren in five-seconds, and then most recently Nate Diaz—to capture the one-off BMF title. After defeating Diaz, Masvidal stated that he was open to a boxing match with pound for pound great, Canelo Alvarez—so fans know his interest in the sweet science is there. Perhaps a bout with Floyd could actually happen?
