The ageless Aleksei Oleinik will take on an unranked opponent in early 2021.
The king of the Ezekiel choke, Aleksei Oleinik, will look to strangle a new opponent in February. According to MMA Junkie (via Jaco UFC 2), Oleinik will face off with Chris Daukaus at a yet-unannounced UFC event next year.
Oleinik (59-14-1, 8-5 UFC) holds wins over the likes of former champ Fabricio Werdum and Mark Hunt in the promotion. He wasn’t able to pull off the victory in his last fight, getting stopped by Derrick Lewis last August. He is currently ranked at number ten at heavyweight in the official UFC rankings, and has picked up four performance bonuses in his Octagon career.
Daukaus (10-3, 2-0 UFC) has picked up two stoppage victories in the last four months in the Octagon, and is on a three-fight winning streak overall. His brother Kyle picked up his first UFC win just ten days ago at UFC 255.
It remains unclear where the February 20th Fight Night event will take place due to the ongoing Covid pandemic.
