Charles Oliveira is determined that his next fight will be for the UFC lightweight title.
Charles Oliveira isn’t just going to sit on the sidelines forever.
‘Do Bronx’ was hoping to fight Poirier for the vacant lightweight title following the latter’s TKO win over Conor McGregor at UFC 257, but ‘The Diamond’ recently hinted at a trilogy bout with McGregor in what will presumably be a non-title fight.
If that’s the case Oliveira, who is on an impressive eight fight win streak with standout victories over Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee, is willing to fight someone else for the lightweight strap.
Oliveira put Poirier on notice after the self-proclaimed ‘uncrowned champ’ hinted at a rematch with McGregor on Wednesday.
Hum… So don’t you wanna face me for the 155’s gold?
Who’s next then? Who I need to beat to have this lightweight belt around my waist?#UFC https://t.co/9OOXx1nT2s

Oliveira reportedly turned down a short notice fight with Michael Chandler at UFC 258 because the Brazilian is adamant that his next fight will be for the title.
