Either Kris Moutinho is super tough or Sean O’Malley is super brittle.

Maybe a little of both?

The UFC rookie was stopped by “Suga” in the opening fight of the UFC 264 pay-per-view (PPV) main card back on July 10 in Las Vegas, but will only be suspended until Sept. 9 for damage incurred in “Sin City.”

O’Malley, no stranger to six-month suspensions, could be benched until Jan. 2022.

Joining him on the list of lengthy timeouts is former UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor. “Notorious” broke his leg during his headlining trilogy opposite Dustin Poirier and will not see action until next year.

The full list of UFC 264 medical suspensions (courtesy of MMA Fighting) includes:

Conor McGregor: Must receive clearance from orthopedic doctor for fractured leg or no contest until Jan. 7; minimum suspension no contest until Aug. 25, no contact until Aug. 10

Yana Kunitskaya: Must receive clearance from ENT doctor for fractured nose or no contest until Jan. 7; minimum suspension no contest until Aug. 25, no contact until Aug. 10
Sean O’Malley: Requires X-ray on both hands to rule out fracture. Requires X-rays on left tibia and right foot, will require clearance from orthopedic doctor on positive result or no contest until Jan. 7; minimum suspension no contest until Aug. 10, no contact until Aug. 1
Kris Moutinho: Suspended until Sept. 9, no contact until Aug. 25

Brad Tavares: Suspended until Aug. 10, no contact until Aug. 1

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.
