Six new fighters have inked deals to join the ONE FC roster, including top Russian prospect Marat Gafurov (8-0), who previously served as M-1 Global’s undefeated featherweight champion.
ONE FC officials announced the signings late Tuesday.
A 29-year-old fighting originally hailing from Dagestan but now fighting out of Russia’s Legion Sport Club, Gafurov captured the M-1 featherweight strap in late-2012, submitting Vugar Bakhshiev with a first-round rear-naked choke. He then defended his belt with a second-round TKO stoppage of Yuri Ivlev this past April.
Gafurov is unbeaten with six stoppages over eight victories, although he has fought outside of Russia just once in his four-year career.
Also joining the ONE FC fold are American heavyweight Kelvin Fitial (12-7-2, 1 NC), Australian featherweights Rob Lisita (13-5) and Martin Nguyen (3-0), Canadian welterweight Kultar Gill (12-8), and Japanese flyweight Kentaro Watanabe (10-4).
