The novel coronavirus has now infected more than 71,000 people around the world, which includes a death toll of 1,775, and while a majority of the outbreak has been confined to mainland China, most of Asia is being forced to take precautions.

That includes the ONE Championship mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion, currently scheduled to host “King of the Jungle” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Feb. 28, a live event that has now been closed to the public.

“In light of the coronavirus situation in Singapore, I have made the decision to convert ONE: ‘King of the Jungle’ on February 28 into a closed event for broadcast only,” CEO Chatri Sityodtong wrote on Facebook. “The Singapore Indoor Stadium will not be open to the general public, but the event will proceed behind closed doors as scheduled live on all TV and digital platforms across 150+ countries around the world.

“If you purchased tickets to attend the event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, you will receive a full refund. Catch the event live on TV from the comfort of your home on February 28!”

ONE: “King of the Jungle” is expected to feature two-sport ONE World Champion Stamp Fairtex of Thailand defending her ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Title against Janet “J.T.” Todd of the United States.
