Conor Wallace, who helped McGregor train for the Diaz rematch, was ‘lured’ to a hotel and accosted by a group of people.
21 year old Conor Wallace is a six time All-Ireland boxing champion, but he’s best known to MMA fans as one of Conor McGregor’s sparring partners in the lead-up to his UFC 202 rematch with Nate Diaz. Now McGregor’s fellow Irish athlete has found himself in a strange situation: being ‘lured’ to a hotel in Newry by ‘vigilantes’ who cornered the boxer, prompting bystanders to call the police.
”I was met by a group of vigilante-style people who made all kinds of accusations against me,” Wallace said in a statement on Facebook. “I would like to make it public that I have not been arrested nor charged with anything. The PSNI took me for my own safety, after a member of the public rang the PSNI after he witnessed me being cornered by men wearing knuckle dusters.”
There’s no word on what exactly the so-called vigilantes accused Wallace of, and Wallace himself didn’t shed any light on that part of the story.
