Tito Ortiz isn’t happy with the Texas commission following the overturning of his win over Alberto El Patron. But somehow, it was Dana White that made Tito’s day in the aftermath.
Yesterday, news broke that Tito Ortiz’s Combate Americas win over professional wrestler Alberto El Patron was flipped to a No Decision by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The one-sided bout went down in December but it took until now for the commission to come up with their vague decision, which didn’t include specifics as to why Ortiz was being penalized.
As per the norm with Ortiz, it didn’t take long for him to respond via social media:
“This is a BS claim and will get overturned. I promise you all. Sad way to get attention at my expense,” Ortiz said.
According to the commission, the issue is “pending further investigation”. The 45-year-old Ortiz (20-12-1, 1 NC) had extended his winning streak to three before the result came under scrutiny, and he had won five of six since departing the UFC in 2014.
After a bad day though, it seems that Dana White of all people helped to lift Tito’s spirits with a timely delivery:
I’m not sure which of these is more bizarre – the Texas commission caring about anything, or Dana and Tito playing nice. Either way though, it was an eventful day in the life of Tito Ortiz.
