Former heavyweights Ovince Saint Preux and Phillipe Lins drop to light heavyweight to compete in November.
A light heavyweight bout between former heavyweights is reportedly confirmed for the November 13 UFC card. Per MMA Junkie, Ovince Saint Preux is once again returning to his original division to take on the Professional Fighters League 2018 GP heavyweight champion, Phillipe Lins.
Going back forth between heavyweight and light heavyweight for his past four outings, Saint Preux (25-16) will look to snap a two-fight losing skid after getting knocked out by both Tanner Boser and Jamahal Hill. Before that, the 38-year-old scored a knockout win over Alonzo Menifield, back in September 2020.
Still looking for his first win in the Octagon, Lins (14-5) is on a two-fight losing skid, with defeats to the aforementioned Boser and former champion Andrei Arlovski. Prior to the losses, the 35-year-old was on a four-fight winning streak, which includes victories over UFC vets Josh Copeland, Alex Nicholson and Jared Rosholt.
Now. Saint Preux is expected to take on Lins at the November 14 event. So far, no other bouts or a location for the event has been announced.
