Court documents give UFC fighter Rachael Ostovich’s side of an alleged beating at the hands of her husband.
On Sunday night, UFC women’s flyweight Rachael Ostovich was involved in an alleged domestic violence incident with her husband Arnold Berdon, that led to Ostovich being hospitalized due to “major injuries” suffered. Today, Berdon was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Now, TMZ Sports has acquired the court documents where Ostovich describes the incident and the injuries she allegedly suffered at the hands of her husband in their Hawaii home that night:
“After a night out with family, [Arnold Berdon] punched me repeatedly on the head, face, ribs, making me fall to the ground.”
”I gasped for breath and escaped thru [sic] balcony. I coughed up blood, threw up (several) times. Cracked orbital.”
Ostovich also stated in the documents that she had been a victim of domestic violence directed at her by Berdon in the past, describing a incident in May where he allegedly struck her legs repeatedly, which caused bruising. She requested and was granted a restraining order against Berdon, with conditions saying that he needs to stay at least 100 feet away and their five-year-old daughter.
Ostovich (4-4, 1-1 UFC) had been scheduled to face Paige VanZant in January in the UFC’s debut on ESPN+, but she was forced out of the bout due to the injuries she suffered.
