“My teammate Curtis [Blaydes] is going to destroy him and I’d be happy to kind of do that after Curtis. Curtis first.”

Derrick Lewis ‘talking crap’ about Alistair Overeem during the UFC on Vegas 9 broadcast didn’t go unnoticed by ‘The Demolition Man.’

Lewis, who is scheduled to fight Overeem’s teammate Curtis Blaydes at UFC Fight Night 185 on Nov. 28, repeatedly dissed Overeem on social media despite ‘The Reem’ beating Augusto Sakai via fifth-round TKO in the UFC Vegas 9 main event.

“I got Sakai 10-7 just because Overeem running his mouth,” Lewis wrote in his first Tweet of the night.

Lewis followed up by scoring the fourth round 10-8 for Sakai despite the fact that only three rounds had been completed, and then late claiming that Sakai had won all four rounds.

“So far I got Sakai winning all 4 rounds,” Lewis posted in his final tweet of the night.

Overeem was quizzed about ‘The Black Beast’s’ comments at the post-fight press conference and responded with the following statement.

“Definitely,” Overeem said when asked whether he would be interested in a potential fight with Lewis (h/t Damon Martin of MMA Fighting). “Derrick Lewis is just talking crap. My teammate Curtis [Blaydes] is going to destroy him and I’d be happy to kind of do that after Curtis. Curtis first.”

Before there’s any more serious talk about Lewis, however, Overeem will be returning home to spend some quality time with his family.

“No preference. You know what my preference is? Quality time with my girls,” he said. “I’ve missed them. Camp is gruesome, separated for eight weeks. I kind of do that on purpose to get extra hungry, extra motivated.

“For now, I’m going to fly back early tomorrow and spend some quality time with them and then we’ll figure it out.”

Overeem is currently #5 in the UFC heavyweight rankings.
