Paige VanZant was set to be in a movie and had a WWE deal on the table, but she passed on both to concentrate on training for her August fight.
Paige VanZant wants to focus on fighting. The recent Dancing With The Stars runner-up had a few different offers on the table, for everything from movies roles to a spot at WWE’s SummerSlam. But instead of exploring these opportunities outside the octagon, she has decided to turn them down so she can be ready for her August fight with Be Rawlings.
VanZant had already accepted a role in the latest Kickboxer movie, titles Kickboxer: Retaliation, but Fox Sports is reporting that she has withdrawn from the project.
“Fighting definitely comes first. I’ve recently declined to be in the ‘Kickboxer’ movie because I want to be 100-percent for this fight and train 100-percent and filming that movie was kind of going to get in the way. We couldn’t get a date set that worked with my fight schedule.”
VanZant (6-2, 3-1 UFC) will meet Rawlings on a Fox card in Vancouver on August 27th. She hasn’t been in the cage since last December, when she was defeated by Rose Namajunas.
