Jake Paul and Jorge Masvidal have gone from friends to foes.
There was a time when Jake Paul and Jorge Masvidal were all buddy-buddy. However, it seems that time is over, with Paul tearing into ‘Gamebred’ for the high crime of picking Tyron Woodley to win this weekend.
At his open workout scrum Paul was asked about Masvidal, someone he trained with in the lead-up to his fight with Ben Askren.
“I wasn’t surprised by Masvidal,” Paul said (ht MMA Fighting). “He has the same managers as Woodley and the guy’s kind of an airhead. Let’s be honest, Masvidal’s not smart. Does anyone listen to a Masvidal interview and go, ‘wow, that guy’s intellectual and he’s a smart guy and the way he talks, he’s very well spoken.’ I don’t think anyone says that.
“He’s a street fighter, gangster, who got knocked the fuck out in his last fight, so maybe he’s losing a couple brain cells.”
Paul continued to slam Masvidal during an appearance on The MMA Hour. There he expressed his anger at the perception that Masvidal had switched his allegiance from him to Woodley.
“If you want to switch up and act like that one moment he’s my friend, texting me saying, ’Let’s train, let’s do a video together. You come to my bakery down the street I want to do a little thing with you.’ Then, oh, snap, all of a sudden he wants to switch up? That’s not how I was raised. Not here in Ohio. If I’m your friend, I’m your friend. If he wants to switch up, hoes will be hoes.”
Masvidal was quick to respond to Paul, writing on Twitter, “I guess this means you’ll stop hitting me up now on social media to hang out and train. Don’t worry about me you got a handful of problems coming your way.”

And Paul, combat sports’ biggest troll, responded to that message with a barrage of posts making fun of Masvidal’s recent loss to Kamaru Usman.
You played yourself. It’s super necessary you get your boss Dana to give you permission to get in the ring with me since you supposed to be nice with your “hands” https://t.co/nWup8UT1nQ pic.twitter.com/1ZerG8oaaH

Paul vs. Woodley goes down this Sunday live on Showtime. There Paul will attempt to take his pro boxing record to 4-0 and follow up from wins over Ben Askren, Nate Robinson and Ali Eson Gib. Woodley, a former UFC welterweight champion, comes into the bout with an 0-0 boxing record and hopes of being the one to finally shut Paul up.
