Paul Daley officially receives visa, targeting early 2015 Bellator return

Paul Daley officially received his visa to resume fighting in the United States on Monday.

Daley (35-13-2), an English power-puncher who re-signed with Bellator in July, is now eyeing an early-2015 return date to the promotion, sources close to the situation confirmed with MMAFighting.com.

Daley, 31, made his successful Bellator debut back in 2012, knocking out Rudy Bears in a little under three minutes. That victory earned Daley a spot in Bellator’s season eight welterweight tournament, where he was scheduled to fight War Machine in the first-ever Bellator fight to air on Spike TV.

The opportunity never came to fruition though, as lingering visa issues stemming from overseas legal troubles forced Daley to withdraw from the tourney field, and ultimately led to Bellator granting Daley his release.

Since then Daley has racked up a sterling 11-1 combined record between six mixed martial arts contests and six kickboxing contests. All but one of those victories have arrived via KO/TKO, and the sole blemish on Daley’s record, a decision loss against Russian welterweight Alexander Yakovlev, led to Yakovlev’s signing with the UFC.
