Social media personality Logan Paul, fresh off his dismantling at the hands of pugilistic icon Floyd Mayweather Jr., is rumored to be boxing former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, though nothing is official at this time.
That hasn’t stopped the eager beavers at BetOnline.ag from laying odds on this potential circus act, with Paul opening as the -200 betting favorite over “The Spider,” who is currently sitting as the +160 underdog.
“Both brothers, I respect them both,” Silva told TMZ Sports about the Paul brothers. “They’re good boys. Smart boys too. And I think that’s good for the future. Especially right now, everything’s changed in the world. People like to see the big shows. The entertaining shows.”
Logan’s brother, Jake Paul, is also favored to beat former UFC champ Tyron Woodley.
Fight fans enamored with Silva’s upset win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (highlights here) will no doubt be rushing to the nearest sports book, though I would caution anyone without disposable income to proceed with caution.
That has more to do with how shady boxing can be and less to do with my faith in Paul.
Silva, who turned 46 back in April, was released from UFC after losing three straight fights, two of which came by way of knockout. As for the 26 year-old Paul, he remains 0-1 as a professional boxer but undefeated as a professional troll.
