“It would’ve been more viral if they let him back into the fight. I had a big, big punch coming for him.”

Jake Paul flattened Ben Askren with a big right hand in last night’s Triller Fight Club headliner, winning the fight by first-round KO.

A wobbly Askren got back to his feet to avoid the 10 count but the referee waved the fight off and declared Paul the winner, signifying the YouTuber’s first big victory over a professional fighter.

Paul understands why Askren might be frustrated with the stoppage but claims the referee made the right call and ultimately saved the latter from further punishment.

“Of course he’s going to protest it, just like every f*cking fighter who loses does,” Paul told MMA Junkie post-fight. “Lucky for Ben Askren, because I had another big motherf*cking right hand coming for him, and he would’ve been unconscious for a lot longer than that. The ref saved him.”

Had the referee allowed the fight to continue Paul says he would have knocked ‘Funky’ out of orbit and that the finish would’ve gone nuclear.

“He’s lucky. He would’ve been an even bigger meme. It would’ve been more viral if they let him back into the fight. I had a big, big punch coming for him.”

Paul beat Askren to extend his professional record to 3-0, finishing all three fights by way of knockout.
