Paulo Costa says Yoel Romero has no idea what he’s talking about.
It was expected that rising middleweight prospect Paulo Costa would face off against Yoel Romero at UFC Miami on April 27, but the bout fell through for undisclosed reasons.
Romero, a two-time UFC title challenger, originally claimed ‘Borrachinha’ had tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs, which is why the fight was allegedly axed. ‘Soldier of God’ later retracted this statement and apologized, but Costa isn’t so forgiving.
In a recent Instagram post Costa, who is undefeated at 12-0 (11 KO’s), claimed Romero has no idea what he’s talking about and accused the Cuban of using PEDs.
The Brazilian also teased fans of his next fight, although he didn’t reveal an opponent.
“Increasing my luck daily. definitely my opponents will not be happy. Soon very good news and my next fight , Romero don’t knows what f-ck sh-t he says. I’m not use steroids, I’m never doped like him,” Costa posted on Tuesday.
There has still been no explanation as to why Romero vs. Costa was cancelled, but Romero will go on to rematch Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza, who he originally beat via split decision back in 2015, in the new UFC on ESPN 3 main event. The event takes place next month, April 27 at BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida.
